ICU RN Job in Brevard, NC

Opportunity:

RN - Acute Care ICU

Job Details:

• Work in an Acute Care unit utilizing a Team-Based Care model where MDs, nurses, case management, pharmacist, and PT/OT meet daily to discuss patient care, treatments, and discharge needs
• Unit consists of 30 beds with 40+ staff members
• Day and night shift staffing includes 1 Charge/CNC, 4-5 RNs/LPNs, and 2-3 Nursing Assistants
• Patient ratios: SD/ICU 2-4:1; Med-Surg 5-6:1 with 2-3 PCTs on floor as appropriate
• Perform procedures including IV starts, central venous lines, arterial lines, Foley catheters, EKG monitoring, and wound care
• Operate equipment including IV pumps, SCDs, Nova Stat glucometer, wound vac, Baxter feeding pump, lift equipment, and Pyxis (nurses only)
• Document using Cerner EMR system
• ICU/Stepdown experience preferred; minimum 1 year med/surg experience preferred
• Must be able to function in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment caring for all levels of care from med/surg to ICU
• Required certification: BLS; ACLS must be completed prior to end of orientation
• Floating may be required to TCU
• Weekend rotation required: 3 Mondays and Fridays per 6-week schedule
• Holidays per staffing matrix
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs for nurses; galaxy/royal blue scrubs for nursing assistants
