Certified Surgical Technologist Job in Paducah, KY

Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. in Paducah, KY is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join the operating room team. This is a travel position running 89 days, starting July 6, 2026, with nights (5x8 schedule) at $2,153.40 per week.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Serve as primary scrub person or assistant for operative procedures
• Scrub into cases and ensure all instruments and supplies are available and properly sterilized prior to procedures
• Maintain sterile field during case setup and throughout surgical procedures
• Alert the circulating nurse of any identified risks or variances from standard operating procedures
• Pass instruments and assist the physician as needed during surgical cases
• Assist with cutting suture material and applying electrocautery to clamps under direct surgeon supervision
• Perform instrument, sponge, and sharps counts during procedures
• Assist with draping and patient positioning in collaboration with the circulating RN
• Perform post-case cleaning duties, including gross decontamination and breakdown of instruments for Central Sterile Processing
• Follow all standards for instrument transport and return to Central Sterile
• Notify leadership of any damaged instruments at the end of each case
• Ensure the surgical suite is disinfected and fully stocked for the next procedure
• Complete all mandatory education requirements and maintain HR compliance
• Follow all safe practices in the OR and complete age-specific annual competency assessments

You will work as part of a surgical team in a fast-paced operating room environment. This role requires attention to detail, knowledge of surgical instruments and procedures, and the ability to anticipate the surgeon's needs while maintaining the highest standards of sterility and patient safety.
