PCU Float Registered Nurse Job in Augusta, GA

Piedmont Augusta Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a PCU float pool position. You will work three 12-hour day shifts per week for 84 days, beginning August 31, 2026, at a weekly rate of $1,814.40.

Role Overview

As a float pool RN, you will rotate across Progressive Care Unit, Medical-Surgical, and Medical-Surgical/Telemetry units. Your patient population includes adults and geriatric patients, with ratios of 1:4–5 in PCU and 1:5–6 in MS and MS/Telemetry settings. Every other weekend is required, averaging six weekends over your 13-week contract. You may request a maximum of seven days off, finalized at submission. Holiday coverage is expected: work all major holidays if one or two fall during your assignment; if three fall during your assignment, work two of them. No on-call requirements.

Clinical Requirements

You must hold current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications. Minimum one year of nursing experience is required; first-time travelers are welcome. Previous charge experience and community hospital experience are preferred.

Clinical competencies include cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation, heparin and IV insulin protocols, cardiac and vasoactive drip management and titration, blood product administration, BiPAP/CPAP management, high-flow nasal cannula, peripheral and central line care, PICC line management, phlebotomy, wound care and wound vac, tracheostomy care, telemetry monitoring, PCA management, feeding tube care, and isolation precautions and PPE.

Systems & Environment

You will chart in Epic and work with Pyxis and SBAR systems. Scrubs must be navy blue. Interdisciplinary support is available through IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, lift teams, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretaries. The hospital operates five MS/MS Telemetry departments, one cardiac telemetry department, one neuro intermediate unit, and two PCU units.
