Respiratory Therapist Job in Salem, VA

Lewisgale Medical Center VA is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a 91-day travel assignment beginning May 4, 2026. You will work three 12-hour night shifts per week from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with rotating weekends.

Role Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care across critical care units including CICU, SICU, MICU, and step-down units
• Perform basic floor therapies including nebulizer treatments, CPT, and nocturnal pulse oximetry
• Obtain and analyze ABGs
• Manage BiPAP and ventilator support
• Conduct typical procedures including HHN, CPT, BiPAP and ventilator management, and extubation
• Operate equipment including EPOC Blood Gases, PB 840, Newport, ReVel, LTV, and V60

Required Qualifications

• Allied Health Professional degree as Respiratory Therapist
• BLS certification
• Experience with basic floor therapies, BiPAP management, and ABG collection

Preferred Qualifications

• Ventilator and BiPAP management experience
• ICU experience

Position Details

• Work with a respiratory therapy team of 6 day shift and 5 night shift therapists
• EMR system: Meditech
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Weekly pay: $1,787.04
