PCU RN Job in Oklahoma City, OK

OU Health in Oklahoma City is seeking a registered nurse for a 12-hour shift position in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This is an 89-week travel assignment starting September 21, 2026, offering $2,397.60 weekly.

You will assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients, delivering competent care across a variety of health conditions ranging from simple to complex. Your clinical experience in medical/surgical or step-down settings is required; ICU experience is preferred. Current ACLS certification is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
• Monitor all changes in physician orders for assigned patients
• Assist physicians in patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
• Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients and intervene when necessary
• Administer medications as prescribed
• Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products
• Interact with patients and families to share care plans during hospitalization and at discharge
• Inform patients and families of hospital procedures
• Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel
• Delegate tasks to support staff as needed

You will work as part of a collaborative healthcare team in a progressive care setting where patients transition from critical to intermediate care. This role requires strong assessment skills, the ability to manage complex patient needs, and excellent communication with both clinical staff and patients and their families.
