PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• 4x12 night shift schedule
• Every other weekend required
• Patient ratio of 1:4 on nights and 1:3 on days and weekends
• Must be able to manage a 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio for MedSurg
• Float to ICU or Medical-Surgical unit as needed
• Minimum 1 year of experience required; 2 years preferred
• Travel experience required
• Must live more than 75 miles from the facility
• New York State nursing license required in hand - no exceptions
• Epic charting experience is a hard requirement
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Scrub color: Any combination of navy and white
• Care for adult and geriatric patients in a critical care step-down setting
• Provide cardiac monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Utilize Rapid Response and Code teams as needed
• Perform peripheral line care and management, phlebotomy, and IV therapy
• Manage respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tanks, and non-invasive airway management
• Provide BiPAP support and care for patients with arterial lines and central lines
• Administer and manage titrated medicated IV infusions
• Maintain isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• All patients have continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring
