RN - Rehab

Job Details:

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Patient ratio of 1:6 on all shifts
• 12-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit with an average daily census of 10 patients
• 8 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule period, combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks with cancelled shifts matching the regular assigned shift length
• No on-call required
• Primary unit will be Inpatient Rehab with floating required to other MSI units including ED for inpatient holds; regular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed
• Treat adult and geriatric patient populations with diagnoses including pulmonary conditions, cardiac conditions, Neuro/CVA, orthopedic recovery, debility, and amputation
• Must be able to perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and respiratory treatments as ordered
• Must be able to manage BiPAP/CPAP devices with preprogrammed settings for chronic conditions
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Charting system: EPIC experience required
• Scrub color: Navy
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Required skills include: Angina, Hypertension, Post MI, blood glucose monitoring, insulin protocols, feeding devices and adaptive equipment, feeding tube care and management, NG tube insertion and management, PEG tube feeding and management, swallowing precautions, thickened liquids, Foley catheter removal, administration of blood and blood products, care and management of ports, central line care (PICC lines), starting and maintaining IVs, venous blood draws, anticoagulation therapy, antiseizure, diuretics, CVA, neuromuscular disease, Parkinson's disease, seizure disorders, spinal cord injury, stroke scale assessment, traumatic brain injury, assistive devices, mobilization techniques, prosthesis application, pulse/CMS checks, suture and staple removal, total joint replacement, incentive spirometry, oral and nasotracheal suctioning, pulse oximetry, supplemental oxygen delivery, diabetic teaching, fall risk assessment and prevention, infection prevention, isolation precautions and PPE, lift and transfer devices, national patient safety goals and core measures, pain assessment and management, patient teaching, pressure ulcer assessment and prevention, restraints, specialty beds, wound care, and respiratory nebulizers, CPAP, and BiPAP
