NICU RN Job in Chandler, AZ

You will work as an RN in the NICU at Chandler Regional Medical Center, providing specialized care to neonates 28 weeks and above. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting August 31, 2026, with 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) at $2,334 weekly.

Shift Details

• 12-hour night shifts, 3 days per week
• 4 weekend shifts required in a 4-week schedule (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday count as weekend nights)
• Holiday rotation coordinated with permanent staff
• Self-scheduling with scheduler review to balance unit needs
• May float to sister facility (MGMC), but travelers remain in NICU

Clinical Expectations

• Patient ratios: NICU 2:1, Special Care Nursery 3:1
• May serve as Charge Nurse based on census
• Care for high-level respiratory complications: vents, CPAP, RAM, and Vapotherm nasal cannulas
• Common diagnoses include hyperbilirubinemia, meconium aspiration, respiratory distress syndrome, PPHN, IUGR, chorioamnionitis, TTN, sepsis, PICC lines, UAC/UVC, chest tubes, passive cooling, exchange transfusions, and pneumothorax
• SCN patients include lower-level NICU diagnoses, CPAP, blood transfusions, and Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS)

Support and Equipment

• NNPs available 24/7; Neonatologist in-house during day shift
• Respiratory therapy and pharmacy support 24/7
• Equipment: GE Monitors, Puritan Bennett 840, Draeger, Vision BiPAP, and V60 ventilators
• Charting via Cerner

Orientation and Requirements

• 2-shift orientation with preceptor upon arrival
• Pass/fail Sim Lab assessment (foley catheter insertion) on Day 1
• Level II NICU experience required; Level III preferred
• Minimum 2 years recent experience (within 6 months)
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• STABLE certification preferred
• Navy scrubs
