Emergency Department RN Job in Pasadena, TX

HCA Houston Southeast is seeking a travel RN for its 30-bed Emergency Department. This is a 13-week assignment starting August 31, 2026, working 3 nights per week on a 12-hour shift (3p–3a). You will earn $1,716 weekly.

Role Overview

You will deliver direct patient care in a high-acuity emergency setting with patient ratios of 1:5 at most, dependent on acuity. You will perform critical procedures including thoracotomy, arterial line placement, and massive transfusion protocol (MTP). The ED operates with a CNC-1 charge nurse, 7–10 RNs per shift based on volume forecast, 1–2 PCT/EMT support staff, and 1 ultrasound technician.

Experience & Clinical Skills

You must demonstrate advanced critical thinking and extensive experience managing trauma, STEMI, stroke, and sepsis cases. Adult and pediatric ED experience is preferred. You will work with advanced monitors, defibrillators, ultrasound, and EKG machines. The facility uses Meditech EMR, transitioning to Expanse.

Schedule & Flexibility

Night shift staffing is lower than day shift, and you are required to work an alternate weekend schedule. You may float to two free-standing EDs as operational needs dictate.

Required Certifications

• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• ACLS, PALS, BLS
• CPI with TIC
• NRP and STABLE certifications are a plus
