PCU RN Job in Asheville, NC

You will work as an RN in a 44-bed Progressive Care Unit at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a backfill travel position running 91 days, starting July 20, 2026.

Schedule and Staffing

• 3x12 hour day shifts (6:45 AM–7:15 PM)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Patient ratio: 4:1 at grid, 5:1 when stretched
• Unit staffing includes 2 CNC/Charge nurses, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, and 1 HUC per shift

Clinical Responsibilities

• Perform neuro and spinal checks, C-collar placement, and TLSO brace application
• Manage chest tubes, PCA pumps, and IV infusions
• Handle lumbar drain management, feeding tube placement, and blood transfusions
• Utilize IV pumps, Skylift, PCA pumps, chest tubes, trachs, and patient lifts
• Document using Cerner EMR system
• Float to step-down and med-surg units as needed

Requirements

• Current RN license
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certification required
• Neuro and trauma care experience required
• Team player with patient-focused approach
• Navy blue scrubs required

Compensation

Weekly pay: $2,102.40
