ICU - Intensive Care Unit

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Position available for 36 or 48 guaranteed hours per week
• Patient ratio of 1:2 for days, nights, and weekends
• Every other weekend coverage required
• No on-call required
• Float within oncology floors, oncology service line, and ICUs with potential to float anywhere within scope
• 2 years of ICU experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Must pass Relias EKG exam - interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Preferred certifications: BSN
• Maximum of 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract
• Required skills include: arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care and management, PICC line management, starting and maintaining IVs, continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, titrating cardiac drips, titrating vasoactive drips, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patient, high flow nasal cannula, interpretation of arterial blood gases, suctioning (ETT, NT), ventilator management, infection prevention, isolation precautions and PPE, phlebotomy, IV insulin protocols, management of multisystem organ dysfunction and failure, and surgical wounds with drains and wound vac
• Agency RNs will manage chest tubes but will not administer chemotherapy
• Nurses are responsible for drawing their own phlebotomy
• Charting system: Pyxis/EPIC with SBAR handoff
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, pharmacy, physical therapy, social services, radiology, respiratory, rapid response teams, patient transport, interpretation services, and unit secretary
• Patient population includes adults with diagnoses related to BMT/oncology, medical overflow, and surgical cases
• Travel experience preferred but first-time travelers accepted
