ED - Emergency Room

Job Details:

• Schedule options of 3x12-hour shifts (36 guaranteed hours per week) or 4x12-hour shifts (48 guaranteed hours per week)
• 8 and 10-hour shift options also available with 40 guaranteed hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Patient ratio of 1:4 for days, nights, and weekends
• Minimum 2 years of emergency room experience required; first-time travelers must have 2-3 years of ER experience
• Local travelers (Indiana residents) are not accepted for this position
• May float to nearby sister facilities as needed (rarely occurs)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
• Preferred charting system experience: Cerner
• Required skills include care of ventilated patients, continuous IV sedation, general emergency department combined adult/pediatric care, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, starting and maintaining IVs, and triage
• Must be comfortable caring for all patient age groups including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Interdisciplinary support available including respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
• 53-room emergency department with a daily census of 150
