Job Details:

• Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS prior to start
• Patient population: Adults to Geriatrics
• Patient ratio of 1:2-3; travelers should be prepared for the possibility of taking a 3rd patient
• 24-room unit with an average daily census of 19
• General diagnoses include ARDS, Sepsis, Stroke, STEMI, DKA, Post-op complications, Cardiogenic shock, GIB, COPD exacerbation, Encephalopathy, Liver failure, Drug overdose, and ESRD on CRRT
• Required clinical skills: Care of ventilated patients, central line care/management, CVA/acute stroke management, CVVHD/CRRT, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, post cardiac surgery, post neurosurgery management, and suctioning (ETT, NT)
• Unit systems: Pyxis, Epic, SBAR
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed
• No travel pairs regardless of unit placement
• Every other weekend required unless specified otherwise
• Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
• Holiday work expectations: If 1-2 major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work all of them; if 3 major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work 2 of them
• Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Special equipment includes: Cardiac monitoring, BIS, Train of Four, Arctic Sun, FloTrac, and IABP
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more
• Orientation: 12 hours
