NICU RN Job in Longmont, CO

You are a registered nurse with at least 2 years of NICU experience, ready to provide direct care to neonates in a Level 2 unit. This is a 91-day travel assignment at Longmont United Hospital in Longmont, Colorado.

Role and Schedule

• Work 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Expect 6–9 weekend shifts within each 6-week schedule block
• Leadership creates schedules 6 weeks in advance; you are expected to be flexible and help fill staffing gaps
• All time-off requests must be submitted before your assignment begins
• Holiday rotation participation may be required
• Low-census call or standby is rare

Clinical Environment

• Level 2 NICU with 6 beds and nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1–3 babies
• Common diagnoses: hypoglycemia, IV antibiotics, mild respiratory distress, phototherapy, pre-term babies learning to bottle feed and gain weight, and withdrawing babies due to maternal drug use
• Attend C-sections and vaginal deliveries with a role focused solely on the baby
• May be asked to care for stable postpartum mothers and babies; facility will provide training if you lack experience in postpartum care
• Possible float to St. Anthony North (26 miles away) if low census or unit need arises

Orientation and Support

• 1–3 orientation shifts with a preceptor
• Prior travel experience is preferred

Requirements and Logistics

• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
• Current BLS (AHA) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications
• Blue hospital scrubs are provided
• Charting system: EPIC

Compensation and Assignment Details

• Weekly pay: $2,354
• Assignment duration: 91 days
