NICU RN Job in Durango, CO

Mercy Hospital in Durango, CO is seeking an RN for its Level II NICU. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning September 14, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,372.

Shift and Schedule

• Work 3 shifts per week on a 12-hour night schedule (6:00 PM to 6:30 AM)
• Weekend and holiday requirements included; typically 4 shifts Friday through Sunday within a 6-week block schedule
• One mandatory call shift every 12 weeks
• Hospital may cancel up to 3 shifts during this assignment

Unit Details

• Level II NICU with 6 designated beds and 2 transition beds; overflow capacity up to 8 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratios follow AWHONN acuity standards: 1:2 or 1:3 within NICU; postpartum and well-baby typically 1:3
• Common diagnoses include TTN, RDS, feeder growers, hyperbilirubinemia, and hypoglycemia
• You will attend deliveries and manage couplet assignments (mother and baby) at up to 1:3 ratio per AWHONN standards

Clinical Resources

• Equipment includes ventilators, BCPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula (HHFNC)
• Titratable drips are limited; general fluids such as TPN and dextrose are managed on the unit
• Higher acuity patients are transported to a tertiary hospital
• Charting via EPIC

Requirements and Support

• Current BLS (AHA), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and STABLE Certification required
• BSN not required; RN credential required
• Floating to other departments per hospital policy, including the mother-infant unit
• Unit orientation: 1–2 shifts provided
• Any professional scrub colors acceptable
