Job Details:

• Weekend schedule as assigned
• No on-call responsibilities
• Patient ratio of 1:1 in a 16-bed unit
• Average caseload of 35-50 cases per day with turnaround expectation of less than 20 minutes
• Scrubs provided
• Both scrubbing and circulating experience preferred
• Weekend call runs from end of shift Friday until 6:30 AM Monday
• Float across all campuses as required
• Service lines include cardiac/peripheral vascular, neurology, orthopedics (primarily trauma), robotics, gynecology, urology, general surgery, pediatrics, transplants, ENT, and plastics
• Special equipment includes 3 Da Vinci robots, Stealth technology for neuro navigation, and primarily Synthes or Stryker for orthopedic trauma
• 16 operating suites with 12-14 running routinely, with space reserved for traumas as a Level 1 trauma center
• 24 months of current operating room experience required
• Circulating and operating room experience required
• Scrub experience highly preferred
• Experience in general surgery, Da Vinci robotics, pediatrics, and trauma required
• Additional experience in neurology, orthopedics, gynecology, urology, transplants, plastics, ENT, and vascular highly preferred
• EPIC EMR experience within previous 3 years required
• Trauma Level I experience highly preferred; Trauma Level II experience required
• No first-time travelers; must have completed a travel assignment within the previous 15 months
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA)
• Iowa nursing license required with active Nursys verification
• Skills checklist specific to Operating Room Nurse (scrub/scrubbing) required
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within 24 months preferred
• Driver's license required
• All candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
