ED RN Job in Carlsbad, NM

Join Carlsbad Medical Center as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department. You will work 12.5-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, providing direct patient care in a Level 3 Trauma setting with a 4:1 patient ratio.

Requirements:

• Current RN license
• 2+ years of emergency nursing experience
• ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC certifications required
• NRP preferred

Shift Details:

• 3 shifts per week on night rotation
• Floating and on-call required with minimum 2-hour notice
• Maximum 1 RTO per 6-week schedule; RTO blackout dates apply for summer and winter holidays based on department needs
• Blocked scheduling and 48-hour guarantees are not approved
• Full uniform required

Your Role:

You will provide shift accountability for emergency room patient care using the Nursing Process in accordance with the New Mexico Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies. You will perform thorough patient assessments, communicate findings effectively, administer medications, and monitor for side effects. You will delegate patient care priorities based on staff education and experience, maintain clinical competencies through continuing education, and apply knowledge of safety standards, infection control, and quality improvement initiatives. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documenting patient care are essential.

Compensation:

• Weekly pay: $2,227
• 91-day assignment
• Start date: September 21, 2026

The facility uses the MedHost EDIS system. You will demonstrate critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in planning for safe delivery of care in a dynamic emergency environment.
