Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work on a 26-bed orthopedic spine unit specializing in spinal surgeries including laminectomies, spinal fusions, and discectomies
• Provide care for patients with diagnoses including Med/Surg, Telemetry, cardiac, low-risk ACS, TIAs, diabetes, hypertension, COPD, dehydration, chest pain, DVT, and PE
• Perform and assist with special procedures including bedside lumbar puncture, post cath (radial/femoral), post-surgical care, post renal biopsy, CT Angio, and Heparin drips
• Operate special equipment including telemetry, bedside pulse oximetry, dinamaps, and glucometers
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6 for days, nights, and weekends
• Every other weekend required with 6 weekend shifts per contract
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, and Pharmacy
• Float to other units or campuses as needed based on census, limited to areas where staff are qualified and have documented competencies
• Minimum 1 year of experience required; 2 years preferred
• Orthopedic experience required
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted
• Must have an active SC or multistate nursing license
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, Dysrhythmia certified
