Telemetry RN Job in Gaffney, SC

SRHS (Spartanburg)–Cherokee Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Telemetry unit in Gaffney, SC. This is a 91-day travel assignment with 3x12-hour night shifts, paying $2,169 per week.

Position Details

• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Resource Float Pool position primarily allocated to Cherokee Medical Center; you may float to main campus or other units within additional campuses with advance notice
• 12-hour shifts available with option for 48-hour shifts
• Weekend shifts required as needed
• On-call required: 2 on-call shifts or 2 additional shifts per 6 weeks
• Holiday coverage on-call required
• Guaranteed hours based on signed contract

Requirements

• Current RN license; pending license accepted but must be obtained before starting
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (1+ year reviewed case-by-case)
• Travel experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Must pass Cardiac Dysrhythmia Test and Medication Test on day one of orientation (one attempt)
• Must pass Telemetry test upon beginning placement
• Able to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred

Clinical Focus

You will manage patients with diagnoses including sepsis, dementia, post-operative, orthopedic, chest pain, and rule-out strokes. You will work with centralized telemetry monitoring supported by a tech. Special equipment includes chest tubes and wound vacs. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary.

• 75-mile radius rule applies; local candidates within 75 miles not accepted
• All requested time off must be included in initial submission
• Shaving may be required to pass onsite fit testing
• Attendance policy: more than two missed shifts per 13-week contract without reasonable explanation may result in contract review for cancellation
