Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Med/Surg Telemetry position with resource pool assignment, primarily based at Cherokee Medical Center with potential to float to main campus as needed
• RN will be notified ahead of time regarding which campus they are scheduled at
• Open to 48-hour shift options in addition to standard scheduling
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Weekend coverage required on an as-needed basis
• On-call required; holiday coverage requirements apply
• Two on-call shifts OR two additional shifts per six weeks required
• Guaranteed hours based on signed contract
• 2 years of experience required; 1+ year will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis
• Travel experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Epic charting system experience preferred but not required
• Must demonstrate ability to interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
• Centralized telemetry monitoring with a tech on unit
• Common patient diagnoses include sepsis, dementia, post-op, orthopedic, chest pain, and rule-out strokes
• Special equipment includes chest tubes and wound vacs
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and more
• Must pass Cardiac Dysrhythmia Test and medication test on first day of orientation — one attempt only
• Shaving may be required to pass onsite fit testing
• Block scheduling is not available
• Local candidates within 75-mile radius are not accepted
• Pending license accepted prior to start date
• All requested time off must be submitted with initial submission; time off requested after the fact will not be considered
• Attendance policy applies — more than two missed shifts per 13-week contract without reasonable explanation may result in contract cancellation
