Telemetry RN Job in Columbia, SC

Prisma Health Richland Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Telemetry position on a 26-bed adult orthopedic spine unit. This role offers a 4x12 night shift schedule at $2,298 weekly for a 91-day contract beginning October 5, 2026.

About the Role

You will provide direct patient care to post-operative orthopedic and spine surgery patients, including those recovering from laminectomies, spinal fusions, and discectomies. Your responsibilities include integrated pain management support, coordination with physical therapy, and mobility assistance. Patient care also encompasses cardiac monitoring, management of low-risk acute coronary syndromes, and care for patients with TIAs, diabetes, hypertension, COPD, dehydration, chest pain, DVT, and PE.

Clinical Scope

• Patient ratios: 1:5–6 across all shifts
• Telemetry monitoring and hemodynamic oversight
• Bedside procedures including lumbar puncture, post-catheterization care (radial and femoral), and post-renal biopsy management
• CT angiography monitoring and Heparin drip administration
• Equipment operation: telemetry systems, bedside pulse oximetry, dynamic blood pressure monitoring, and glucometers

Staffing & Scheduling

Every other weekend is required, with 6 weekend shifts per contract period. The facility may call off one shift per two weeks. Floating to other units or campuses based on census needs may occur; floating is limited to areas where you maintain current competencies and documented qualifications.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience; 2 years preferred
• Orthopedic experience required
• 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
• Active South Carolina or multistate nursing license
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and Dysrhythmia certification
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
