Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Oncology

Job Details:

• Work on an adult Med Surg/Oncology inpatient unit with 21-30 beds
• Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5
• CNA ancillary support available on the unit
• No on-call requirements
• May provide float support to other Med Surgical units
• Scrub color required: Navy Blue
• Utilize EPIC electronic health records system
• Care for 100% inpatient adult population with a variety of medical, surgical, and oncology diagnoses
• Treat common diagnoses including cancer, stroke, congestive heart failure, end-stage renal disease, alcohol/opioid withdrawal, abdominal pain, hematology/oncology, and pre/post-operative patients
• Provide airway and respiratory care including chest tube setup and care, CPAP/BiPAP, and tracheostomy care
• Administer blood and blood products and obtain 12-lead EKGs
• Manage drains, feeding tubes, fistulas, PCA pumps, PICC and central lines, Port-A-Cath/vascular device access, triple lumen catheters, and wound VACs
• Administer IV medications including titrated heparin and stable drips such as Lasix
• Experience in general medical-surgical, hematology/oncology, general surgery, pre-op, and post-op patient care areas required
