Med Surg RN Night Shift Job in Alexandria, LA

You will work as an RN on the Medical/Surgical unit at CHRISTUS St Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana. This is a 91-day travel assignment with 3 positions available.

Schedule and Pay

• 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Weekly pay: $2,238
• 36 or 48 hours per week guarantees available
• Overtime is not billable until after 48 hours
• Weekends may be required based on scheduling needs
• No on-call requirement

Your Responsibilities

• Care for post-surgical patients including orthopedic, general surgery, and neuro populations
• Provide routine and complex nursing care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administer medications and treatments using appropriate protocols and monitor for side effects and effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given
• Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed

Unit Details

• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1 to 6:1 depending on staffing
• Floating to other units is a possibility

Requirements

• RN license in state of employment or compact license required
• BLS certification via AHA required
• 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• EPIC experience is a bonus
