ICU - Intensive Care Unit

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement (Saturday and Sunday)
• Minimum of 2 holidays required within contract time frame
• 1 shift of unit/department specific orientation provided
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2-3 for adult ICU patients
• Care for patients with diagnoses including trauma, cardiac conditions, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress
• Required to titrate drips including cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation
• Required to read, interpret, and document telemetry strips using GE monitor system with tele tech oversight
• Manage patients on respiratory equipment ranging from nasal cannula to ventilator
• Floating may occur to PCU or occasionally Med/Surg with a ratio of 1:4 or 1:5
• Self-scheduling available; block scheduling not guaranteed
• Charting system: EPIC
• BSN not required
• Driver's license required at submittal
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
• If placed on call and called back in, must be able to arrive within 30 minutes
