Med Surg RN Job in Sullivan, IN

Sullivan County Community Hospital is seeking an RN for their Med Surg/Telemetry unit. You will work three 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM) on a rotating schedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday on, Monday off, then Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday on, with 7 days off following. Every other weekend is required. Holiday rotation is shared with permanent staff, and there are no on-call, standby, or floating requirements.

Unit Details

• 22-bed Med Surg/Telemetry acuity care unit
• Patient ratio: 1:6
• Nurse aide support: 1 available on nights
• Primary patient populations: geriatric and adult with diagnoses including COPD, CHF, pneumonia, abdominal pain, minor surgical cases, and SBO

Clinical Responsibilities

• Read and interpret telemetry strips
• Titrate drips including Heparin
• Manage CPAP and BiPap equipment (no mechanical ventilation)
• Chart in MEDITECH system

Scheduling & Support

Self-scheduling is used and balanced by the manager. Block scheduling is permitted but not guaranteed. You will receive a 2-day unit-specific orientation.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year Med Surg experience; travel experience preferred
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• PALS preferred
• Scrub color: Steel Gray
