PCU RN Job in Asheville, NC

You will work as an RN on the A 4 West Adult Med-Surg unit at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a 34-bed progressive care unit located on the 4th floor where you'll provide direct patient care on a day shift schedule: 3x12 hours, 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM.

Your responsibilities include:

• Assess med-surg level patients and communicate changes in acuity to the Charge RN, Manager, Rapid Response, or Provider
• Perform IV fluids, tube feeds, PEG feedings, and IV antibiotics
• Demonstrate telemetry rhythm capabilities and strong critical thinking skills
• Manage patient loads with day shift ratios of 1:4–6 patients
• Float to other med-surg units and occasionally to the ED holding pod as needed
• Attend unit huddles at 6:50 AM
• Work every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per pay period

Unit staffing on day shift: 1 Charge nurse, 6–7 RNs, 3 CNAs, and 1 HUC. Night shift includes 1 Charge nurse, 5–7 RNs, 2 CNAs, and 1 HUC.

What we need from you: Current BLS certification is required; ACLS is preferred. You must possess strong communication skills, excellent time management, and punctuality. You'll clock in no earlier than 6:38 AM and must clock out and in for meal breaks. Navy blue scrubs are part of the dress code. The unit uses Cerner for electronic medical records.

Assignment details: 91-day travel assignment beginning October 26, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,077. You'll join a team-oriented environment where collaboration with CNAs and fellow nurses is essential.
