Respiratory Therapist Job in Grand Forks, ND

Altru is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for NICU respiratory therapy. You will provide critical care to neonatal patients in a specialized intensive care environment.

Your responsibilities include:

• Perform and document patient evaluations and assessments
• Deliver diagnostic and therapeutic treatment with physician assistance
• Provide patient education and family teaching based on individual needs
• Monitor for significant changes in patient condition and report appropriately
• Communicate pertinent clinical information to caregivers and document in the electronic medical record
• Complete pain assessments and implement interventions per standard operating procedures
• Manage all documentation including order entry, verification, medication charting, patient safety reports, and equipment repair documentation
• Process patient charges and verify billing reports as needed
• Maintain respiratory equipment through disassembly, cleaning, assembly, and preventative maintenance
• Transport neonatal patients to and from referral health systems while providing critical care

Position details: You will work 3 nights per week, 12-hour shifts, with a guaranteed 36 hours worked per week. This is a 92-week assignment beginning November 30, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,758.

Required credentials: North Dakota State Board of Respiratory Care license and Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Respiratory Therapist license are required prior to start. You must hold current BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications.
