Respiratory Therapist - Registered Respiratory Therapist

Job Details:

• Day shift position working 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Schedule follows a Wednesday, Thursday, Friday rotation with weekends off, then Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday rotation
• 13-week contract
• Call required - virtual call from 7:00 PM until start of next shift; may need to be on-site for hands-on needs in the ER or acute care setting
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Missouri RRT State License required
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, NBRC (RRT or CRT)
• Treat patients across all age groups including neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
• Perform adult critical care, aerosol treatments, BiPAP/CPAP management, arterial blood gas drawing and interpretation, intubation assist, tracheostomy care, and mechanical ventilation weaning
• Administer a variety of inhaled medications including Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, Pulmicort, Spiriva, Xopenex, and racemic epinephrine
• Operate and troubleshoot ventilators including IMV, SIMV, high frequency jet, and oscillating ventilators
• Provide respiratory care in NICU and emergency department settings
• Perform sputum specimen collection, nasal/oral airway placement, and patient transport
• Travelers may float to different units as needed
