You will work as a registered nurse in the Emergency Room at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center, a dynamic acute-care setting where you'll provide direct patient care across a range of acuity levels and conditions.

What You'll Do

In the Emergency Room, you will assess, triage, and care for patients presenting with acute medical and surgical conditions. Your responsibilities will include performing nursing interventions, monitoring vital signs and patient status, administering medications and treatments as ordered, collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary team members, and communicating effectively with patients and families during often stressful situations.

Schedule Expectations

You will work a day shift rotation on a three-days-per-week basis. An every-other-weekend schedule is required, as is an every-other-holiday schedule. This structure allows for consistent coverage in a 24/7 emergency care environment.
