ICU RN Job in Joplin, Missouri

Mercy Hospital Joplin is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Intensive Care Unit. This is a night shift position running 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with 36 guaranteed hours per week. The assignment is 91 days, beginning July 27, 2026.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity ICU setting, managing complex medical, surgical, trauma, and stroke patients
• Titrate complex IV drips, including vasopressors and vasoactive medications
• Manage advanced equipment: IV pumps, chest tubes, GE monitoring systems, Arctic Sun, glucometers, and feeding pumps
• Maintain typical patient ratios of 1:2, with flexibility to 1:1 or 1:3 based on acuity and staffing needs
• Float to clinical areas within your scope of competence as required
• Report for duty with 1 hour notice during low census periods
• Weekend hours required per facility scheduling

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a high-acuity ICU
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
• Current PALS certification
• Current TNCC certification
• NIHSS certification preferred

Additional Details

The facility uses the EPIC electronic medical record system. Black scrubs are required; t-shirts and sweatshirts that are not facility-approved are not permitted.

You will earn $1,971 per week. This assignment offers the opportunity to work in a structured ICU environment with predictable scheduling and strong clinical support.
