RN - RN Nephrology - FS

Job Details:

• Med/Surg and Stepdown experience required
• Charge experience is a strong plus
• Must be familiar with central line care and management
• Must be familiar with foley care and management
• Must be familiar with end of life care and management
• Must know how to properly care for a dialysis site (e.g., not using an HD catheter or attempting to access a fistula for blood draws)
• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
• Note all changes in physician orders for assigned patients
• Assist physicians in patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
• Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients and intervene when necessary
• Administer medications as prescribed
• Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products
• Deliver competent patient care across a range of health problems from simple to complex
• Interact with patients and families to share care plans during hospitalization and at time of discharge
• Inform patients and families of hospital procedures
• Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel
• Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
