ICU RN Job in Des Moines, IA

MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center is seeking an RN for a 6-month assignment in the Intensive Care Unit. You will provide direct patient care in a fast-paced critical care environment, working 12.5-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM on an every-other-weekend schedule.

About the Role

• Monitor and assess critically ill patients requiring intensive medical supervision
• Deliver evidence-based nursing interventions and respond to medical emergencies
• Administer medications, manage patient airways, and provide life-saving interventions as needed
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation and medical records
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other multidisciplinary team members to coordinate comprehensive patient care
• Communicate effectively with patients and families about treatment plans and patient status

• Location: Des Moines, Iowa
• Facility: MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center
• Duration: 182 days (6 months)
• Start Date: June 29, 2026
• Shift: 3 nights per week, 12.5 hours each (7:00 PM–7:30 AM)
• Schedule: Every-other-weekend rotation
• Holiday Coverage: July 4th, then every other holiday thereafter

Compensation

• Weekly Pay: $2,342.34
