About this role

You will work as an RN in the ICU at Barnes-Jewish Hospital Nursing in Saint Louis, Missouri. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning August 3, 2026, with 3x12-hour night shifts (36 hours per week) and weekly pay of $2,111.96.

Assignment Details

  • Patient ratio of 1:2 (1.5:1 per unit details)
  • Every other weekend required; no on-call
  • Float required within ICU service line and down to med/surg as needed
  • Maximum 7 days of requested time off; no RTO allowed during first week
  • Navy scrubs required

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience; travel experience required (first-time travelers not accepted)
  • Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Previous charge experience preferred
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility

Required Certifications

  • ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
  • CPI and TNCC preferred

Clinical Scope

You will care for adult and geriatric patients with respiratory failure, ARDS, acute chest pain, cardiac and arrhythmia conditions, stroke, cardiac arrest, DKA, multiorgan failure, and sepsis. You will manage pre- and post-operative cardiac, thoracic, and abdominal surgery patients, plus medicine and neuro-medicine overflow, pre- and post-transplant patients, and end-of-life and organ donation cases. Strong cardiac knowledge is required; travel RNs will be scheduled in the CTICU for coverage but will not take fresh cardiac surgery cases.

Required Skills

  • Arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, CVP monitoring
  • CRRT/CVVHD, CVA/acute stroke management, continuous IV sedation and paralytics
  • Hemodynamic and invasive monitoring, ABG and dysrhythmia interpretation
  • Management of dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction
  • PICC line management, phlebotomy, pulmonary artery line and Swan Ganz monitoring
  • IV insertion and maintenance, ETT and NT suctioning, cardiac and vasoactive drip titration
  • Ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP management, infection prevention, and isolation precautions

Equipment

You will work with IV pumps, CRRT/dialysis equipment, ventilators, BiPAP, hemodynamic monitoring systems, and defibrillators/crash carts.
