Telemetry RN Job in Winston Salem, NC

Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Med/Surg Telemetry unit in Winston Salem, NC. This is a 91-day travel contract with 12-hour night shifts on a 3x12 schedule, earning $1,979 weekly.

Position Details

• 12-hour night shifts; every other weekend required
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• 36-hour unit orientation
• Navy scrubs
• Floating required to other Med/Surg Telemetry areas
• Makeup shifts expected the same week or at contract end if shifts are called off
• Start date: August 31, 2026

Qualifications

• Current RN license
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience with at least 1 year direct Med/Surg experience
• At least 2 successful prior travel contracts
• Med/Surg neuro experience required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Preferred certification: ACLS

Required Skills

• IV starts and peripheral line care
• Telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Central line care and management
• Blood product administration
• CVA and seizure disorder management
• Traumatic brain injury care
• Management of cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration
• Isolation precautions and PPE
• Rapid response and code team collaboration

Patient Population

You will care for patients with stroke, epilepsy, neurosurgery, subdural hematomas, subarachnoid hemorrhage, intracranial hemorrhage, and brain tumors.

Systems & Support

The unit uses PYXIS, EPIC, and SBAR documentation. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams.
