Med Surg RN Job in Grass Valley, CA

You will work as a Registered Nurse on a 38-bed Med Surg unit at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital in Grass Valley, California. This is a 91-day travel assignment with a start date of October 27, 2026, paying $2,010 per week.

Schedule and Staffing

• 3x12 night shifts (beginning at 6:45 AM with bedside report)
• Every other weekend requirement
• Required to work 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
• Self-scheduling with manager balancing; schedules posted 4 weeks in advance with remote access
• Overtime and extra shifts available

Role Responsibilities

• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Unit includes 8 Telemetry beds; you will be first to float to Telemetry
• Care for general Med Surg patients and post-op general and orthopedic patients
• Read and interpret EKG strips
• Competence required in Amiodarone and Diltiazem drips
• Fast-paced unit with 2-hallway layout

Support and Resources

• Hospitalist or Intensivist in house
• Respiratory therapy and pharmacy available 24/7
• No IV team on site
• No ventilator experience required
• Floor-specific orientation of 1–2 days with a preceptor

Required Credentials and Certifications

• RN degree (BSN not required)
• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Must pass Dysrhythmia Exam (Basic) through UNA prior to acceptance
