Med Surg RN Job in Redding, CA

You will work as a Registered Nurse on a 17-bed Med Surg Orthopedic unit at Mercy Medical Center Redding. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 17, 2026, with a weekly pay rate of $1,924.

Schedule and Shift Details

• 3x12 day shifts per week, 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Every other weekend schedule with 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week cycle
• 1 shift of orientation provided upon start

Unit Overview

The orthopedic unit specializes in hip, knee, shoulder, and spine cases with no drips. You will manage a patient ratio of 1:5 on the main unit. A nurse aide is available for 8 hours during day shift, and your clinical supervisor serves as charge nurse with no patient assignment, providing break relief as needed.

Scope and Responsibilities

• First to float with potential assignments to telemetry unit (1:4 ratio) or between med-surg floors
• Read and interpret telemetry; you will be required to pass a dysrhythmia exam
• Portable telemetry box available with monitor tech support

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Med Surg Orthopedic specialty
• Previous travel healthcare experience required
• BLS certification required
• BSN not required
• Ability to work as a team player in a dynamic unit
