PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

RN - PCU Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (nights)
• Weekend requirement based on unit needs and demands
• Holiday shifts required
• Patient ratio of 1:3-4 with occasional variance
• Free charge nurse and CNA support available (CNA ratio 1:8-12)
• Charting system: EPIC
• Telemetry monitoring required - nurses read strips with remote tele monitor tech support
• Experience managing drips including nitroglycerin, heparin, cardizem, nicardipine, amiodarone, insulin, dopamine, esmolol, labetalol, milrinone, argatroban, and aggrastat required
• Common diagnoses include CVA/TIA, STEMI/NSTEMI, chest pain rule out MI, ACS, CHF, renal failure, respiratory failure/distress, DKA/HHNK, PE/DVT, atrial fibrillation, pre/post cardiac angiogram, stents, pre/post pacemaker, pre/post cardiac ablation, pre-CABG, and CIWA
• Experience with CAPD (Peritoneal Dialysis) is a plus but not required
• Floating may be required
• Floor-specific orientation provided: 12 hours policy/procedure, 12 hours on unit with preceptor, and EPIC training as needed
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
