Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Self-scheduling type
• Every other weekend required with a minimum of 6 weekend shifts per contract
• No call requirement
• Float requirement to Med/Surg if needed
• 24 hours of unit orientation
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Travel experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Required skills include: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, arterial line management, central line care/management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), continuous IV sedation, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, central venous pressure monitoring, IV insulin protocols, TPN/Lipids, interpretation of arterial blood gases, obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG, suctioning (ETT, NT), phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, intake and output monitoring, urine output assessment, infection prevention, isolation precautions/PPE, and recognition of infection in immunosuppressed patients
• Preferred skills include: CVICU experience, Neuro ICU experience, Surgical ICU experience, PICC line management, post cardiac surgery care, thermoregulation management, GI surgery, and previous charge experience
• Common patient diagnoses include sepsis, DKA, COPD, and heart failure
• Special procedures include central line insertion, chest tubes, arterial lines, and invasive monitoring
• Special equipment includes HelloCare and Tele-ICU
• Unit systems include Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR
• Interdisciplinary support available including respiratory services, interpretation services, and unit secretary
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
• Unit consists of 8 beds with a daily census of 8
