Med Surg RN Job in Nashville, TN

You will work as an RN on a 36-bed Medical-Surgical unit at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN. This is a travel position with a 91-day assignment beginning September 14, 2026.

Schedule and Pay

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• 4 weekend shifts required within each 4-week block
• Weekly pay: $1,918.44

Role and Responsibilities

You will provide direct patient care on a unit with a 1:4 to 1:5 patient ratio. You will perform basic assessments and general care including wound care, tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, and chest tube management. You will care for patients recovering from post-operative procedures such as amputations, oral surgeries, and wound vac placements. Your patient population may require dialysis or PCA pumps with Heparin as the only drip.

You will conduct bedside shift reports and safety checks every 1–2 hours with emphasis on communication and responsiveness. Documentation is completed using the Meditech system. You will float over core staff per the unit's floating policy and work alongside a unit secretary daily and PRN techs.

Clinical Focus

• HAI prevention protocols including CVC and Foley monitoring with standard precautions
• Fall prevention protocols
• 100% medication scanning including controlled substances
• Equipment proficiency: PD Cyclers, Welch Allyn VS Carts, Hoyer Lift, Broda Chairs, and Alaris IV Pumps

Requirements

• Current RN license
• BLS certification
• NIHSS certification
• Dress code: Scrubs in Navy, Blue, White, Black, Gray, or Ceil Blue

You will be part of a stable unit with daily secretarial support and a well-established care model focused on patient safety and communication.
