PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care

RN - Critical Care Peds Float Pool

Job Details:

• Night shift position working 36 or 48 hours per week
• Contract lengths available: 13 weeks, 26 weeks, or 52 weeks
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Float pool position rotating across various pediatric units including PICU, NICU, Peds Med/Surg, Peds PACU, Peds ED boarders, and Postpartum/Mother Baby
• May be required to float to Labor & Delivery and Mother/Baby during staffing needs
• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
• Must have both PICU and NICU experience and be comfortable with pediatric patient populations
• Peds PACU experience highly preferred
• Travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• BSN preferred
• Must adhere to float pool policy
• Maximum 40 hours of requested time off per 13-week contract; no time off approved during first 2 weeks of assignment
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, PALS, and Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certificate (can submit with certification pending; note there is a cost associated with this certification)
• Virginia nursing license required (pending license accepted)
• Nursys verification required with submission
• References required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Community hospital, LTAC, Trauma Level I, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Patient ratios vary by unit: PICU 1:2, NICU 1:2 (ICU) or 1:3 (ICN), Acute Pediatrics 1:4-1:5, Peds ED variable
• Key clinical skills required include but are not limited to: arterial line management, central line care, hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, ECMO, CRRT, high flow nasal cannula, IV vasopressors, tracheostomy care, pediatric dosage calculations, and management of chest tubes
