Certified Surgical Technologist in Geneva, NY

Finger Lakes Health Geneva General Hospital is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join the Operating Room team on a full-time basis. This travel assignment offers a 96-week contract beginning July 27, 2026, with 4x9 rotating day shifts at $1,544.40 per week.

In this role, you will function as a scrub tech, working as an integral member of the surgical team to ensure safe patient care and maintain strict sterile protocols. Your responsibilities include:

• Prepare and maintain sterile fields in accordance with AORN standards
• Clean, process, and sterilize surgical instruments using steam autoclave and automated high-level disinfectant equipment
• Select and organize instruments and supplies based on surgical procedure, patient history, and age
• Perform proper surgical hand scrubbing, gowning, gloving, and draping techniques
• Assist the surgical team by passing sterile instruments and supplies during procedures
• Operate sophisticated surgical equipment and adapt to intraoperative changes
• Draw up medications with proper labeling of all solutions and syringes
• Perform and verify instrument, sponge, and sharps counts to prevent retained items
• Identify and correct breaks in sterile technique immediately
• Assess the surgical environment for safety, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance
• Mentor and precept new employees

You will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and ancillary services to deliver high-quality surgical care. Participation in the planning and implementation of patient care is essential to this position.

Required Qualifications: OR Tech certification is required. Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or RQI is required. Minimum one year of experience as a surgical technologist is required.
