Emergency Room RN Job in San Antonio, Texas

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking a registered nurse for a 13-week contract assignment in the Emergency Department at Methodist Hospital Texsan in San Antonio, Texas. This is a nights position working three 12-hour shifts per week, with a start date of October 5, 2026.

Position Overview

You will work in a 13-bed Emergency Department with an additional fast track area containing 6 chairs. Your responsibilities include triage, medication administration, splinting procedures, and patient care across multiple acuity levels. You will document all patient interactions using the Meditech EMR system.

Staffing and Patient Ratios

Night shift operates with one charge nurse, two RNs, and one receptionist or patient care technician. Patient ratios are 1:4 for standard ED patients and 1:6 when assigned to the fast track area for low-acuity cases.

Equipment and Skills

You will use vital signs machines, portable EKG equipment, glucometer, transport monitors, and Belmont rapid transfuser. Ultrasound-guided IV experience is preferred.

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Previous emergency department experience required
• TNCC certification
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• PALS certification
• Weekend availability as needed
• Navy blue scrubs required

Compensation and Schedule

Weekly pay is $1,791. There are no on-call responsibilities. You will work nights only with a team-oriented group in a fast-paced emergency environment.
