Job Details:

• 12-hour rotating day and night shifts, 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM / 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
• Rotating schedule consists of 2 weeks of days followed by 2 weeks of nights, varying depending on staffing needs
• Weekends required, averaging every other weekend
• Travel RNs will be added to the holiday rotation along with permanent staff
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Float requirement - float first
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-6
• 22-bed unit
• Care for patients with diagnoses including bradycardia, A-fib, SVT, CHF, CAD, NSTEMI, PVD, PE, CVA/TIA, post-operative VATS, post-operative lobectomy, post-operative wedge resection, chest tubes, tracheotomy (no vents), TAVR, and post-op day 1 CABG patients
• Must have experience with epicardial pacing and chest tubes
• Required to titrate drips per ordered parameters including Cardizem, amiodarone, procainamide, dopamine, dobutamine, heparin, and insulin
• No ventilators, continuous BiPap, CPAP, or Airvo on unit
• Monitors are Nihon Koden; RNs are not required to read their own strips as interpretation and documentation is completed by a monitor tech
• Charge nurse takes full patient assignment; nursing supervisor available 24/7
• Nurse aides available at a 1:15 ratio
• Hospitalist and intensivist in-house; respiratory therapy available hospital-wide 24/7
• IV therapy team handles all IV sticks
• Unit orientation consists of a 12-hour shift with a preceptor
• Self-scheduling via a scheduling committee; block scheduling open for discussion
• Up to 2 cancellation shifts per 13-week contract
• Charting system: Allscripts
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs, no artificial nails
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA)
• Must provide a copy of unexpired driver's license at time of submission
• Any licensing hits must be disclosed at time of submission
