PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

RN - PCU

Job Details:

• 84 hours biweekly with a 72-hour guarantee; must agree to a 36/48-hour alternating schedule with facility potentially considering straight 48s
• Weekend shifts required as needed, which may include most weekends during the contract
• Block scheduling may be accommodated, but set schedules cannot be approved
• Float required between Med Surg and PCU units
• Patient ratios: 5 patients on days, 6 patients on nights
• Serve adult and geriatric patient populations
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; travel experience required
• Epic charting system experience strongly preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Required skills include cardiac telemetry, central line care and management, blood product administration, BiPAP/CPAP management, heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, titration of insulin drips, thrombolytic agents, tracheostomy care and management, wound care and wound vac, PICC line management, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, interpretation of arterial blood gases, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, pacemaker management, PCA, phlebotomy, and use of rapid response and code teams
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
