Cat Scan Tech - Cat Scan Tech

Job Details:

• Day shift position working Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM
• Perform a wide variety of CT scanning procedures requiring independent judgment and initiative
• Verify proper clinician orders and obtain complete clinical history prior to procedures
• Administer contrast media following established procedures and protocols
• Ensure proper patient identification using 2 unique identifiers prior to performing any procedure
• Review CT images for clinically acceptable results and release patients
• Demonstrate proficiency with loading and operating power injector
• Maintain competency with venipuncture
• Push and retrieve images from CT console to PACS
• Perform pre- and post-procedural care and demonstrate understanding of sterile technique
• Respond to emergency situations and maintain life support equipment
• Transport, position, and assist patients on and off procedure table
• Maintain Joint Commission standards and all applicable regulatory agency standards
• Take call when necessary
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Radiology required; less than 1 year of CT experience preferred
• Must be flexible with work hours to meet department needs
• Required certifications: ARRT Radiography (ARRT-R), ARRT Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT), and BLS (AHA or Red Cross)
• Must be competent in all aspects of CT including patient positioning, exposure factors, and radiation protection
• Must have knowledge of anatomy and pathology as they relate to procedure quality
• Accredited Program in Radiologic Technology required
