Cat Scan Tech - Cat Scan Tech

Job Details:

• Night shift position working Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Must be flexible with work hours to meet department needs
• Perform a wide variety of CT scanning procedures requiring independent judgment and initiative
• Set up equipment and position patients for imaging procedures
• Adjust imaging techniques to minimize patient radiation exposure while maintaining image quality
• Verify proper clinician orders and obtain complete clinical history prior to procedures
• Administer contrast media following established procedures and protocols
• Demonstrate proficiency with loading and operating power injector
• Maintain competency with venipuncture
• Review CT images for clinically acceptable results and release patients
• Send all studies to PACS immediately after completion and print CDs as needed
• Respond to emergency situations and maintain life support equipment
• Transport, position, and assist patients on and off procedure table
• Apply shielding, supportive, and immobilization devices as needed
• Maintain Joint Commission standards and all other regulatory agency standards
• Take call when necessary
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Radiology required
• CT experience preferred
• Must be a graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiology Technology
• Required certifications: ARRT Radiography, ARRT Computed Tomography, Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Must be competent in all aspects of CT including patient positioning, exposure factors, and radiation protection
• Must possess excellent communication skills and ability to function independently in a fast-paced environment
