OR RN Job in Rochester, NY

URMC Strong Memorial Hospital is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for a 12-hour shift role. This Level 4 position offers a competitive weekly rate of $2,342.34 and runs for 89 days, with a start date of August 3, 2026.

About the Role

You will work in a busy trauma hospital operating room, caring for patients across multiple surgical specialties. Your responsibilities include both scrubbing and circulating duties, depending on unit needs. You'll support a diverse surgical program that includes orthopedics, general surgery, plastics, urology, cardiac, neuro, vascular, ophthalmic, GYN, ENT, thoracic, oral-maxillofacial, and trauma cases. The role includes exposure to two Da Vinci robotic surgical systems and involvement with a transplant program covering liver, kidney, and heart procedures.

Schedule and Expectations

This is a rotating day/evening/night shift position. You will be expected to work on-call, callback, and floating assignments as unit needs dictate. Holidays and weekends are part of the schedule.

Requirements

• Current New York State RN license
• Minimum two years of operating room experience
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Ability to scrub and circulate in multiple surgical specialties

Preferred Qualifications

• Level 1 trauma hospital experience
• Telemetry experience
• Specialty surgical experience including transplants, plastics, reconstructive procedures, and craniotomy
• Strong orthopedic surgical background
• ACLS certification
