ED RN Job in Lincoln, ME

Penobscot Valley Hospital is seeking an experienced RN for our Emergency Room. You'll work 3x12 night shifts (7p–7a) on a 91-day travel assignment beginning October 20, 2026. This role offers $2,397 weekly pay.

Your Responsibilities:

• Perform initial and ongoing age-appropriate nursing assessments for emergency room patients
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care based on patient needs and physician orders
• Execute nursing actions to achieve patient goals and communicate updates to the healthcare team
• Document patient care activities in accordance with established standards and policies
• Administer medications correctly using the five rights; evaluate patient responses
• Assess patient and family education needs and provide teaching as indicated
• Complete discharge planning and ensure patient and family understanding of the discharge plan
• Perform follow-up calls to patients post-discharge
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and bedside rounding with hospitalists and case managers
• Maintain a safe physical environment for patients and staff
• Ensure supplies and equipment are readily available and in safe working order
• Actively participate in quality improvement programs and department initiatives

Requirements:

• Maine RN license required (Maine or compact license accepted)
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
• BSN preferred
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of nursing assessment and skills for all age groups
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, kneel, stoop, crouch, bend, reach, balance, and lift up to 30 lbs
• Visual and hearing acuity sufficient to assess patients
