Med Surg RN Job in Burlington, NC

Cone Health - Alamance Regional Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for its 29-bed Medical Surgical unit in Burlington, NC. You'll work 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM) with every other weekend required and no call obligations.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric populations on an orthopedic and medical surgical unit
• Manage a patient ratio of 5–6 patients per shift
• Float across campus locations as needed and take charge RN shifts when required
• Monitor telemetry and administer blood products, manage PICC lines, perform wound care, and handle continuous bladder irrigation
• Support tracheostomy care, IV management, and other advanced nursing skills
• Care for high-volume patient populations including total joint replacements, fracture repairs, and kyphoplasties
• Manage moderate-volume surgical procedures and observation medical patients
• Accommodate ED patients with varying acuity levels as needed

Unit Features and Equipment

The unit includes on-unit telemetry monitoring, an on-unit physical therapy gym for patient rehabilitation, CPMs, Buck's Traction, and neck and back braces to support orthopedic care.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Previous travel nursing experience
• Charge RN experience
• Current BLS certification
• EPIC EMR proficiency
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam (2 attempts allowed)

This 91-day assignment begins November 9, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,021.76.
