Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Oncology

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Every other weekend requirement with holiday rotation alongside staff
• 3-day floor-specific orientation provided
• Cancellation policy: 12 hours every 2 weeks
• Work on a 29-bed oncology unit on the 7th floor
• Patient ratios of 1:5, occasionally 1:6
• Nurse aides available, generally 3 per day
• Charge nurse provided outside of staffing grid except in unusual circumstances
• Telemetry present with central monitor; reading strips not required
• Floating rarely required, only to medical acute unit
• Common diagnoses include acute oncology symptoms, thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, sickle cell crisis, hematology, medical overflow, oncology, and end-of-life care
• Outpatient area patients may be transferred to floor to finish treatment if outpatient area closes
• Charting system: MEDITECH
• Scrub color: Caribbean Blue
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS preferred; ONS certification required if administering chemotherapy
• Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty required
• Must have at least 1 prior travel assignment; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Must reside within 75 miles of facility per driver's license address
