PICU RN Job in Wichita, KS

Join Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas as a Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). This is a travel nursing position offering 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) for 91 days, starting August 25, 2026.

Position Overview

You will provide direct patient care in a 15-bed pediatric ICU with a 2:1 patient ratio. The night shift team includes an Intensivist, RN staff, and Respiratory Therapist. This is a teaching hospital environment where you will work alongside experienced clinicians and contribute to ongoing education and training.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform IV starts, blood draws, and TPT (total parenteral therapy) placements
• Monitor and manage general cardiac and respiratory monitoring equipment
• Deliver comprehensive bedside nursing care in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting
• Work effectively under pressure in a collaborative teaching hospital model

Requirements

• Current RN licensure
• Minimum 1 year of acute care hospital PICU experience
• BLS and PALS certifications required
• Proficiency with Meditech/CPN EMR system

Preferred Qualifications

• CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy) experience
• APHON (Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses) certification
• Prior pediatric teaching hospital experience

Compensation & Details

Weekly pay: $2,259. This travel position offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a respected pediatric intensive care setting while maintaining the flexibility of a temporary assignment.
